Eating disorders are some of the most dangerous ways to lose weight. There is a common misconception that all eating disorders leave the person extremely thin and so, it is easy to tell those who are suffering from them. However, some disorders such as bulimia are not so easy to spot and the person can go for years with this disorder. As with any eating disorder, if you suspect someone is suffering from one, it is important to make sure they get the help the need, as it could end up saving their life. A person suffering from bulimia does not have any control over the amount of food they eat. It is characterized by binging and eating as much as you can at a particular time. After they have eaten, they may feel ashamed of themselves and they will force themselves to throw up or purge. This dangerous pattern of binging and purging may be caused by a lack of control in the person's life. Generally a traumatic event can cause this feeling of no control such as the death of a loved one, beginning school or moving. Being able to establish this control by eating allows the person to cope with these changes.   Stop Overeating t is a fact that much of the overeating leading to obesity happens when you have "down time." Perhaps more importantly for those who have office jobs or occupations that otherwise encourage sitting, this includes just about anytime you're sitting still enough to eat a typical chip or crisp. Not only is planting and maintaining a food garden a useful hobby that saves you money, but you have good odds of being rewarded with fresh, bountiful produce that will encourage you to cook your own food, one meal at a time.   Plenty of leftovers   When planted in even a very basic sort of succession; a garden plot will provide a parade of fresh produce over most growing seasons. This can provide you with as much as three-quarters of the year where you will be challenged to make a meal out of vegetables and fruits that can help stop overeating on several fronts.   A tomato plant in a pot isn't going to cut it   you need to make a real commitment to see if you can always have something ready to eat. Especially if its the sort of food you think you'd like but haven't bothered with learning what to do with it. This can be done in a succession of plots, in a particularly sunny backyard, or even where the lawn used to be in the front.  As an added bonus, your neighbors will have a chance to see how much better you look and feel as they see you tending the garden over the course of the year. Emotional Eating Here are multiple things you can do to battle emotional eating: Try to find comfort in other places- if you are sad and feel like eating, try to find someone in your family or a friend to talk to. This can have the same effect that food will have, but without the weight gain! Try supplements that can boost metabolism- Many supplements can be used in every day life that will also have weight loss and metabolism boosting effects. Tea is one of these supplements. You can drink the tea when you feel like you need to drink or eat something and it will have positive effects. Keep only healthy food in the house- If you only shop for healthy food, you won't have the urge to eat bad things because they won't even be in your house. Treatment for Eating Disorders Shockingly, eating disorders are becoming an increasingly popular way of losing weight. With societal as well as professional pressures of being thin, it is no wonder that so many turn to eating disorders despite the dangerous side effects they have on the body. Many of these eating disorders such as anorexia and bulimia can result in death, so if you or someone you know is suffering from an eating disorder, it is vital they receive treatment; it could save their life. Although much of the treatment for eating disorders revolves around statistics and common symptoms, it is important for treatment to see the person as an individual. It can be very detrimental to a patient to be treated as a statistic or someone that is common. Many eating disorders are based on low self-esteem and feelings of worthlessness, so one of the worst things is to take away a person's individual symptoms.
